I wouldn’t normal post stuff like this, but seeing as youtube has become a large part of my life.. Here Goes.

I woke up this morning and as usual check my youtube subscriptions, to find out that they have updated the design on the Video Page (possibly others, but found yet.). Here are a few images of the updated design that i have found.

This Is the Video Page where you would watch the videos. If you was watching videos from your subscriptions you would have a “Next In Subscriptions: Box. Also with a Auto Play Box. If you had searched for a video you would have a “Next in Search Results” Box also with auto-play.

At the top of the video page there is a drop down section that shows the other of the users videos.

If you are the owner of the video, under neath the video you will see the view count, if you click on the drop down icon you will get some complex statistics that can come in some use.

If you decide to do a search whilst you are watching the video you can still be watching the video with the search results displayed by the side.

That is about all i have found so far if anyone finds any others feel free to comment.

Before you go and install this please note that you shouldn’t install this as root. Make another account to install or make an account just for the ZNC.

Step 1: Install the Requirements.
In the command line type the following:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libc6-dev gcc build-essential

Step 2: Download ZNC From source
In the command line type the following:

wget go.inozzo.com/znc
tar xzf znc-0.080.tar.gz

Step 3: Setting it Up
In the command line type the following:

cd znc-0.080
./configure --disable-openssl --disable-perl

Step 4: Compiling and installing
This may take a while on slowwer systems.
In the command line type the following:

make
sudo make install

Step 5: Configuring ZNC
This is the setup stage (you are almost ready)
You can choose your own options if you like, these are only for beginners (and Jake Wright)
In the command line type the following:

./znc --makeconf

After that it will give you some questions

What port would you like ZNC to listen on? (1 to 65535)

You can choose any port but i recommend 6668 or 6666

Would you like ZNC to listen Using ipv6? (yes/no)

You type yes or know it doesn’t really matter. If you dont know what ipv6 is i would advise no.

Listen Host (leave blank for all ips)

I would leave this as blank unless you are installing this on a machine with multiple ip addresses

Do you want to load any global Modules? (yes/no)

More than likely you will. So just type Yes

It will now give a list of available modules

Load global module <partyline>? (yes/no)

This is a nice feature but is not required and i wouldn’t advise using it.

Load global module <webadmin>? (yes/no)

You will need this if you are a beginner, it also makes your life a lot better.

It will now ask you to setup the first user:

Username (AlphaNumeric):

I would just enter your first name. This is the name that you will login with.

It will now ask you for a password:

Enter password:

This is the password you will login with
It will also ask you for a password Confirmation

Would you like this user yo be an admin? (yes/no)

You will need this to be yes so that you can manage the ZNC

Nick:

Now Enter the nick you will use on IRC

Alt Nick:

This is the nick the ZNC will use if the main nick isnt available

Ident:

The Ident is The part before the @ in your hostmask on the IRC Server. Using your name will be fine.

Real Name:

This is your real name that will show up when people /whois you. Using your name is usefull

VHost:

Unless you know what this is leave it blank.

Number of Lines to Buffer per channel [50]

ZNC can save temporary logs of channels when you disconnect. This is the max amount of lines that it saves. 50 will do fine.

Would you like to keep the buffers after replay?

If you say yes to this you will have to manualy clear the buffer every-time. Just type no.

Default Channel Modes:

Just Press Enter. Unless you know what you are doing.

Do you want to automatically load and use modules for this users

More than likely yes. Just Type Yes.

It will give you a list of modules that can be enabled.

Load Module? <admin>

If you said yes to the user being an admin earlier then type yes here. If not Type no

Load Module? <chansaver>

Yes. This is very useful. It will maintain a auto join list for you. Type Yes.

Load module? <keepnick>

This will keep trying for the main nick. Just type Yes.

Load Module? <kickrejoin>

This will rejoin you to a channel if you are kicked. I would advise using this.

Load module? <nickserv>

This will automatically identify you when the server requests it. I would recommend this. So just type Yes.

Load module?
<perform>
You can use this to auto-perform IRC commands when the ZNC Connects. This is useful for opers. I would type yes just in-case i ever do need it.

Load Module? <simple_away>

This allows the znc to do things when you disconnect, this includes changing your nick etc. I would advise you using this

IRC Server (host only):

Type the server address that you wish for ZNC To Connect to. It should be something like irc.ircnetwork.com or server1.ircnetwork.com

Port (1 to 65535)

This is the port the ZNC will connect to the irc server with. It will almost always be 6667. So just hit Enter

Password (probably empty) :

You can leave this blank unless you know what it means.

Would you like to add another server?

One Server is Enough. If you would like to add more than one server type yes.

Would you like to add a channel for ZNC to automatically join?

You can join channels at anytime, but if you would like to have it join a channel by default they type yes.

Would you like to setup another User?

Unless you need another user type no. You can add them at anytime.

Launch ZNC now? (yes/no)

I would type yes, unless you don’t want the ZNC to start and connect now.

You have now setup and configured your ZNC. It would of displayed some startup messages if you answed ‘yes’ in the previous question.

If you enabled the ‘webadmin’ modules you can access it at the ip address of the machine on the port you told it to listen on.

If you need help leave some comments!

There are thousands of different irc networks out there, many with similar features. I have been using wyldryde since i started my website almost 1 year ago. I have switched about with irc networks over the past few months, mainly because i am looking for a new irc network. I didn’t leave wyldryde because it lacked features, i left because there was a few issues between some of their staff. Now, those issues are resolved and it has made it a much nicer chatting environment to be in with more friendly staff who are always happy to help anybody that comes their way.

So now i am using wyldryde for my chat, and i will continue to do so for a long time.

And don’t forget to check out their website WyldRyde IRC Network

Now, before any of you think that i am some sort of twilight fan. I’ll tell you now, i am no way obsessed with twilight but the amount of people that take twilight far to seriously is getting to a crazy amount and this is one thing that put me off watching the film until now.

After watching twilight i realised that it was not as bad as some people made out (most of which had not seen the film). But as i said earlier in far less words, people are becoming obsessed my twilight. Yes, is a half-decent film, but this just gets ridiculous to the point where people get upset when people say a single bad thing about it.

Here are a few peoples views (from twitter):

“I think that the people who are obsessed in twighlight are just little kids that are amazed by what they have seen. It is a stupid film , don’t watch it!” – YorkshireNerd

“People who are obsessed with twilight are individuals and like what they like, people should not be mean or try to make people hate it. People are entitled to make thier own mind up about it.” – Bethii

It seems that there is a mixed opinion on people’s obsessions. Tell me what you think by either tweeting with @jordancooktech or Leaving a comment on this post.

May of you may have noticed that over the past couple of days i have been un-following everyone on twitter, i am very sorry if i un-followed you but i’m sure after reading this this you will know why.

My main reason to un-follow everyone is because the amount of tweets that appear in my timeline, most of which are commercial spam. If you are like me, and you would like to interact with the community more, you will shortly realise that following 1,500 people on twitter is a bad thing and causes some big problems, and i am wanting to use twitter in the way that it was built to be used.

Before my decision to un-follow everybody i firstly stopped auto-following people back, as this is the main reason i end up following spammers. Chris Pirillo had also done the same as me a month before, and at the time i and everyone else thought he was stupid, but now i have come to see that is it not so ridiculous as it sounds.

When i ran the script to un-follow people, i instantly realised that my followers was dropping at a rapid decline. This means that most of the people that follow me are also using the auto-follow and un-follow features, and to any of you that are doing the same thing i would advise you not too, as this would get you in a mess with a busy timeline.

As i said earlier, i apologise if i un-followed you and i will be following most of the people again.

I just hope that many of you out there will follow mine and a few others paths, and start to un-follow spammers and overall make twitter a better place.

I orded this a few days ago, and i’m surprised at the speed of the delivery. Any Way, As you may of noticed in a few of my videos you can hear and click bangs and bumps really loudly, this is mainly becuase of the mic being placed on the Desk. So i Purchesed a Microphone and ShockMount From Amazon for £40.63 about $30. The Unboxing of the shockmount and the Review of the mic stand will come soon.

Yesterday i Un-boxed the Tiger Microphone Stand, and When i Got Home Today The Shock Mount Was here. The Shock Mount Stops any Vibrations From the Stand Passing Into the Microphone and Causing a Terrible Sound. The most useful use for is when the mic is on a desk and a lot of vibration is created from using the mouse and Keyboard. You can buy your own shock mount for the Samson C01/U, C02/U, C03 and C04 fromhttp://go.inozzo.com/shockmount/
